SUMMARY:Jaycees on Tap - Top Outstanding Young Persons Reception
DESCRIPTION:Join the CU Jaycees in celebrating three outstanding young people from our community who excel in their chosen fields\, endeavors and show great commitment to our community at the Champaign Urbana Jaycees Top Outstanding Young Person (TOYP) Reception at Collective Pour at 6 PM on Thursday\, April 14th. Every year the Illinois Jaycees recognize individuals under the age of 40\, who exemplify the best attributes of young people from across Illinois. Recipients come from many backgrounds\, but each has made an impact on their fellow man and our community. \nThe CU Jaycees are proud to have two recipients as part of the 2022 class of TOYP\, Xander Hazel and Michael McDonald Jr. We also are excited to be able to celebrate our 2021 class of TOYP Elizabeth Sullard. All three glowing examples from our own community are recognized for their achievements and their commitment to our community. \n\nXander Hazel. 2022 Honoree\nBusiness\, economic\, and/or entrepreneurial accomplishment.\nHazel is executive director of Champaign Center Partnership\, a nonprofit membership-based organization within Champaign which fosters a vibrant\, inviting\, and active core in Champaign’s Downtown\, Midtown\, and Campustown by strengthening business and building community.\n\n\nMichael McDonald Jr. 2022 Honoree\nBusiness\, economic\, and/or entrepreneurial accomplishment.\nMcDonald is owner of Wood N’ Hog Barbecue restaurant with locations in Champaign and Urbana.\n\n\nElizabeth Sullard. 2021 Honoree\nHumanitarian and/or voluntary leadership.\nSullard is an active citizen in her community. She serves on the Committee on aging; as a board member of the Young Professionals of Champaign Urbana and is founder of Working Moms in Chambana.\n\nThe CU Jaycees invite you to join us for our informal reception/social honoring our recipients at Collective Pour\, 340 N Neil St #101 in Downtown Champaign on Thursday\, April 14th from 6-8pm. The informal reception will be a chance to congratulate the award recipients\, learn more about the CU Jaycees\, and network with others in the community. Appetizers will be provided\, and attendees are encouraged to stop in anytime between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. \nThis is a chance to congratulate and thank Xander\, Michael and Elizabeth for their efforts as a community before they receive their award at the statewide Illinois Jaycees TYOP award ceremony on April 30th in Springfield\, IL.
